Wheel throwing classes

Join Grace from Muckware for private wheel-throwing pottery classes in the Byron Bay Hinterland. Enjoy full use of the studio while you immerse yourself in 2.5 hours of hands-on ceramic practice.

No experience is needed. Whether you're new to clay or looking to build on your skills, this one-on-one session is tailored to you. Great for individuals or pairs.

    • $220 per person for 2 people

  • Muckware Ceramics Studio, 853 Hinterland Way, Newrybar 2479

  • 2.5 hours

    • Your own pottery wheel

    • All ceramic tools, stoneware clay, and materials

    • Firing and your choice of ceramic glazes

    • Keep your favourite 3 pieces

  • Beginners will learn to create simple cup and ceramic bowl forms. If you're more experienced, you can explore advanced shapes like ceramic plates or taller pieces. Grace will handle trimming and glazing.

  • Your work will be ready for pickup or delivery in 3 - 4 weeks.

    All pieces are fully microwave and dishwasher-safe.

  • Nope! These private pottery classes are designed for all levels.

  • About 4 weeks after the session. Pieces are bisque-fired, glazed, and high fired.

  • Yes, you'll choose from Muckware’s signature ceramic glazes during your class.

  • Yes, they’re vitrified and completely safe for food, microwave, and dishwasher use.

  • No. Aprons are provided. You're welcome to bring reference images or ideas.
